Washington Unified is excited to partner with the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools
Migrant Education Program, Region IV to offer a Family Biliteracy Program for WUSD families.

Migrant Education School Readiness Program provides Migrant families with educational assistance for children who are 3 to 5 years old and while including family participation. Migrant parents receive academic support in order to enhance their literacy levels and expand
their parenting skills. Parent and child time is an integral part of the Migrant Education School Readiness Program, during which time migrant parents learn how to improve their skills and abilities as their child’s first teachers.

Program Benefits:

  • Parent and child interactive literacy activities.
  • Parent education on child development.
  • Assists migratory parents in recognizing the value of education for their children.
