Easton High Basketball Teams Compete in First Exhibition Against Kings Canyon

On Wednesday, April 10th, students from Easton High and Easton Community Day School visited Kings Canyon High School in Dinuba for a basketball exhibition. Eight students from WUSD’s Alt. Ed. Program participated in 3 on 3 basketball games against teams from KCHS. The event was organized by KCHS and Easton High/Community Day School administration as a way to provide their students with a positive extra-curricular activity, something they say is rare Alternative Education Programs.

“I’ve been really looking for a way to provide our students with more than the regular education program,” stated Alt. Ed. Program Director and Principal Grant Thor. “I’m glad we were able to participate in this event as our first extra-curricular activity. Our guys were competitive and we received positive feedback from the KCHS staff.”

The two teams from WUSD Alternative Education Schools both played two games each. Team A finished with 2 Wins and 0 Losses while Team B had 1 Win and 1 Loss for a combined record of 3 Wins and 1 Loss on the day. The event and the games were designed for fun and friendly competition while bringing students together for a positive social experience. The Principals from both schools hope this is the first of more joint activities/athletics in the future.
