WUSD students from West Fresno Elementary and Middle Schools and Washington Union High School recently competed in the West Fresno Chess Tournament, placing in all three divisions! Students competed against over 100 participants from County schools including Mendota, Liberty, Sun Empire, Coalinga, Huron, and Kerman.
Coached by WFES CSO Anthony Sidney, West Fresno Elementary took 4th place in the 4th-6th grade division, Washington Union took 2nd place in the high school division and West Fresno Middle School took 1st place in the Jr. High division.
