The health and safety of staff and students is a top priority at the Washington Unified School District.

As we host both virtual and in-person summer school options for students, WUSD is following the guidelines recently released by the California Department of Education (CDE) entitled, “STRONGER TOGETHER, A GUIDEBOOK FOR THE SAFE REOPENING OF CALIFORNIA’S PUBLIC SCHOOLS.”

Health and Safety precautions include, but are not limited to:

  • Screening Staff and Students prior to entering school facilities
  • Physical Distancing of 6 feet or more
  • Education about the importance of frequent hand-washing, social distancing, and avoiding touching your face
  • Individual school supplies for students to prevent shared items
  • Strongly encouraging the wearing of masks to prevent the spread of illness
  • Designated care and isolation locations on campus for students who are identified as showing signs of illness
