In November, voters in Washington Unified approved a 46 million dollar school facilities bond, intended to address the needs of the student population through modernization and renovation projects at the district’s four schools. Projects will include renovation and modernization of classrooms, student support centers, multi-purpose rooms, parking, and student drop/pickup configurations, amongst other items.
The process has begun and the first series of bonds are scheduled to be sold in January. The district is working on selecting an architecture firm to begin the design process for the projects.
Once projects are designed, the district will set up phases for construction. Each school site in the district has been included in this project with specific items identified to meet student needs. A high priority has been placed on replacing portable classrooms and student use buildings throughout the district.
