Update: On December 14, 2020, the WUSD Board of Education approved the 2020 LCFF Budget Overview for Parents.
California Education Code (EC) Section 52064.1 requires each school district, county office of education (COE), and charter school (LEA) to develop the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) Budget Overview for Parents in conjunction with the LCAP by July 1 of each year.
As part of Senate Bill (SB) 98, the California State Legislature stated that the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) and an annual update to the LCAP are not required for the 2020–21 school year. Senate Bill (SB) 98 added EC Section 43509, which changed the adoption date for the Budget Overview for Parents for the 2020–21 school year. For 2020–21, local governing boards or governing bodies are required to adopt and submit the Budget Overview for Parents on or before December 15, 2020, in conjunction with the LEA’s first interim budget report.
The Washington Unified School District would like to notify members of the public of the opportunity to submit written comments regarding a draft of the 2020 LCFF Budget Overview for Parents. Please note, the document below represents a draft for purposes of soliciting feedback. The final plan will be posted on our website after board approval in accordance with state guidelines.
