WUHS Academic Decathlon Wins 3rd Place at County Competition

Washington Union High Schools’ Academic Decathlon team competed in the 37th Annual Academic Decathlon competition on February 2, 2019.  The team won 3rd place overall in Division 4 after competing in events such as: Speech, Essays, Interviews, and Super Quiz.  This year’s theme was “1960s: A Transformational Decade.”  WUSD is also proud of this year’s individual winners:

 

  • Natalie Madrigal:Gold in Language and Literature, Silver in Math, Bronze in Economics, Gold in Social Science, Silver in Art
  • Omar Tortoledo: Bronze in Essay, Gold in Language and Literature, Silver in Science, Silver in Social Science, Bronze in Art
  • Ashley Perez: Silver in Math, Silver in Science, Gold in Art, Gold in Music
  • Derek Morris: Silver in Interview, Bronze in Music, Gold in Speech

  • Leyla Gudino: Bronze in Math, Silver in Social Science, Bronze in Art
